Redness and Broken Capillaries
At SkinMed Institute, state-of-the-art laser technology (VBeam Perfecta®) is used to treat areas of the skin affected by vascular anomalies. This can include a variety of conditions including broken capillaries and redness from conditions like rosacea to birth marks like hemangiomas and port wine stains.
Pulsed Dye Laser treatments target hemoglobin (the stuff that makes our blood red) -- the energy from the laser is absorbed by the red blood cells, destroying them and the surrounding abnormal dilated blood vessels. Typically, a series of 4-6 treatments are recommended.
