Injectable Fillers

After age 30 we start producing a significant less amount of collagen and elastin - the building blocks of our skin. Collagen and elastin function as the scaffolding, supporting the skin, so without it the skin starts to look less supple and more sunken.Dermal fillers can be used to replace lost volume and help smooth wrinkles and restore an overall more youthful appearance.

Based on your anatomy, injections can be used to volumize the nasolabial folds (the two sets of parentheses that extend down from the nose to the corners of the mouth), the marionette lines (the lines that extend from the corners of the mouth to the chin), the mid face (cheeks), the jawline, lips, temple, and/or tear troughs. Dermal fillers can also be used for ear piercing rejuvenation and recently the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Restylane Lyft and Radiesse for rejuvenation of volume loss in aging hands.

There are many different materials used as dermal filler:

Hyaluronic acid (HA) – a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. HA helps keep skin plump and hydrated. Results from HA fillers typically last 6-12 months. We offer a variety of HA fillers: Juvederm Ultra®, Juvederm Ultra Plus®, Volbella®, Voluma®, Vollure™, Belotero®, Restylane® Silk, Restylane®, and Restylane® Lyft.

Calcium hydroxylapatite – a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, found primarily in our bones. The consistency of a CaHA filler is typically thicker than that of a hyaluronic acid filler and typically lasts longer as well, about 12 months for most patients. Calcium hydroxylapatite is also reported to help stimulate natural collagen production, and it is  used for deeper lines and wrinkles. We offer the only FDA approved CaHA filler: Radiesse

Poly-L-lactic acid –  classified as a “collagen stimulators,” this filler smoothes fine lines by helping your skin rebuild natural collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid is typically used to treat more severe volume loss and or deeper wrinkles and results can last more than 2 years. We offer the only FDA-approved Poly-L-Lactic Acid, Sculptra Aesthetic.

Facial fillers are a quick treatment that delivers instant results, with little to no downtime. Results last 6 months to a year, sometimes longer, depending on the product and treatment.
