Mona Sadeghpour, MD
A graduate of Yale Medical School, Dr. Sadeghpour, is an award-winning, board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist with advanced clinical and academic experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is one of only a handful of physicians who has earned the highest degree of training in the field of laser and cosmetic dermatology in the western Pennyslvania region. She is the founder of SkinMed Institute and a nationally recognized thought leader in the field.

Dr. Sadeghpour graduated summa cum laude from University of Texas at Dallas from the Collegium V Honors Program and received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she served as chief resident and received the John McSorley Departmental Award for best overall achievement in
patient care and research in dermatology. Following her residency, Dr. Sadeghpour completed the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) accredited fellowship in laser and cosmetic surgery at the world-renowned SkinCare Physicians in Boston, Massachusetts, where she trained with the nation’s leaders and pioneers in the field of laser and cosmetic surgery. Her research on melasma, enhanced tattoo-removal techniques, and safety of soft-tissue fillers have won national recognition and prestigious awards. Her expertise on these and other topics in cosmetic dermatology have also been published in multiple academic book chapters with her as the author.
Dr. Sadeghpour previously served as an Assistant Professor and the Medical Director of the University of Colorado Skin, Laser, and Cosmetic Surgery Center where she held one of the highest overall rates for patient satisfaction in the department in both her medical and cosmetic practice. While on faculty at University of Colorado, Dr. Sadeghpour led and created an innovative educational curriculum to train physicians in training in laser and cosmetic dermatology. She has continued to volunteer and teach other physicians and residents nationally at other institutions including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, The Cleveland Clinic, and University of Florida.
As a laser and cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Sadeghpour specializes in facial rejuvenation and sculpting using neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport) and soft tissue fillers including Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma, Belotero and other fillers, as well as fractional rejuvenation (Fraxel and other lasers), microneedling, PRP for hair restoration, and laser treatments for photorejuvenation, redness and broken blood vessels, brown spots, melasma, acne and non-acne related scarring (including traumatic or post-surgical scars), skin tightening and tattoo removal.
Dr. Sadeghpour has a unique expertise in safely treating all skin types, including skin of color, where she selectively designs treatments tailored to the unique anatomic and biologic needs of patients with darker skin types. After her academic career, Dr. Sadeghpour founded SkinMed Institute, an innovative private practice established in Denver, Colorado. There she established a Center of Excellence for treatment of skin conditions in patients with Skin of Color, and her unique expertise was sought after by many patients who travelled far to see her prior to her moving back to Pittsburgh to be closer to her roots and her family. She continues to lecture and teach medical students, residents, and physicians nationally as well through multiple national societies, where she holds leadership positions.
